Christmas 2005 all Kacey's STUFF Posted by Picasa

Loving An Idea

It's almost time for Happy New Year! and I wanted to post a photo of Baby Kacey's Christmas loot which leads me to the title of this post, Loving An Idea.

Who would have thought that so many people could love someone that they've never met, living on the other side of the world. It's just amazing and humbling for me to think about. I know I've loved her from the moment I signed with Great Wall but I certainly did not expect others to fall as hard and fast as I did.

With all the happy thoughts and prayers she's receiving I'm not as worried about her as I was before. Contrary to popular belief I do think Kacey is ready to come home but is waiting for her turn. There are a few babies in line ahead of her and she's waiting patiently unlike her Mom. My hope is that she is warm, well taken care of and healthy.

Hang in there little girl, we are almost there!

Ok, I'm still here and thought I'd post my favorite new picture. Saturday Night under the lights at West GA., we were at one of Jeff's last games as a Senior. This is his Mom, Danielle and little sister, Peyton 10 years old. Danielle and I have been best friends since 8th grade, don't EVEN do the math on how long it's been! Posted by Picasa

Vacation Bound!

I'm off for my Christmas vacation as of close of business today! I'll be away from the office until January 3rd so unless there is big news that needs posting you won't hear from me until then. I'm headed down to South Florida to visit the family and get a little color on these pale cheeks. I'll also celebrate Christmas with my Mom, Dad, brothers Jim & Kevin and Kevin's girlfriend Donna. Should be tons of fun.

Let's hope I have to run to Starbuck's and post about referrals very soon!

Wishing you all,

A Merry Christmas or A Happy Hanukah or A Blessed Kwanza and A Joyous New Year!
The last I'll celebrate without Kacey :)

Holiday Joy(s)!

Just to keep my BLOG lively I thought I'd feature my friend's (Don & Brenda) gorgeous twins for today. They were all dressed up for their breakfast with Santa.

The Stork Has Landed!

After a one day weather delay in Austin the stork has arrived at Great Wall. Her package contained information (referrals) for 61 little ones. We had TWO sets of twins (which is rare) and 2 boys. I can't wait to see the new photos!

Next group on deck, the familes logged in the second half of April and if we're lucky a little bit of May. These referrals are not expected until the beginning of January! Chinese New Year is January 29th in 2006 (the year Year of the Dog) so we are all hoping that they will arrive early in the month.

We are currently in the year of the Rooster so Kacey will be one lucky little Chook Baby.

The Stork is Flying!

The stork is on the way to Great Wall and she has 61 precious packages in her sack. These referrals will cover log in dates through April 14th, our next log in date at GW is April 27th. The families logged in on that date are very, very disappointed about not getting their babies in this batch. They are next though and I am 61 families closer to Kacey.

Christmas Future!

Well, I took the plunge and bought Kacey a Christmas dress for next year...I bought a 2-t so that ought to be plenty big for her! I saw a picture with Santa of the cutest little girl in this dress and she just HAD to have it. Now her room is set for the holidays.

Thursday, December 01, 2005

Well, we got a referral update from Great Wall yesterday. The December batch will be mailed next week and will include those dossiers logged in until April 14th (60 babies on their way home). This is not great news for me since my LID (log in date) is July 8th and every time they split the months it puts me a full month behind in my wait for Baby Kacey!

Worse case scenerio will be that they split all months between May and July and my referral doesn't come until June with travel in July/August. While it will certainly stink to wait that long when I was originally told to expect a January or February referral with travel in April or May it is what it is. I've been sad, I've been mad and now I'm over it...when it comes it comes. This is one of the few things I can not control and for a control freak like myself it's a bit painful to stomach.

But, it could be worse, I could have a LID at the end of the month and see all my July Dragonflies going off to to China while I waited another month which is the case with my friends logged in April 28th.

I'll report again when the referrals are safely on the ground at Great Wall.
